Hi, I'm trying to add more episode detection to the uk-sky.com.ini file.
A lot of shows from there come in with the following format:
8/8. Families across the UK are helped to save money, sort food facts from food fiction and eat well for less. In Cheshire, Gregg and Chris assist the entrepreneurial Saynors. [S] [HD.(n)
(also interestingly this only has the episode (8/8) whereas the sky website specifies the series too, (S5))
I'm trying to make it detect the 8/8 as an episode number.
I've got to a point where it is now spitting out a file without the 8/8 but just the ., however it is not adding an episode section the XML programme entry. such that it looks like this:

I added the following to the site ini to achieve the above:
index_description.modify {remove(index_temp_1 not "" type=regex)|\d+\/\d+} * xx/xx *disable to leave season/episode info in index_description
...
index_episode.modify {substring('index_episode' "" type=regex)|'index_temp_5' "\d+\/\d+"} *xx/xx

your in for a tough challenge.
this site contains season/episode info in various patterns and places.
its not for the novice creator by any means and your going to need good thinking and regex skills.
all the data is there,it just may not be all in one place.
i wont show you how todo it as no one learns when givin the answers but i will show that its possible..
what i said above is the key to solving you problem.
Well, from what I can see I already have the regex done, for episode detection atleast. Not sure how you got the series out of it though. Also don't really understand how the sky ini is actually interfacing with the sky website. Anyway, that's besides the point. I'm just confused over how the regex captured data, which its clearly capturing because it's being removed from the description, is moved into the tags.
I totally understand your sentiment of not just giving out the answers and showing that it is, infact, possible as otherwise that leads to not actually learning anything in the process, however I also believe being given no info other than "hey it works" is a little frustrating.
browse some channel that play series shows
there are many season episode patterns in the description.
sometimes its not there at all and its in the actual show data(debug ur showsplit).
sometimes only parts of the season episode is in the description and the rest is else where(read line above this one again).
soo where i am going,there are many patterns you have to look for/scrub.
there is a entire section in my ini just for season/episode number info(prob 25-30 lines).
the more you look and start finding the diff patterns and realize what you need todo to put it all together the more your going to find that a few lines are not going to solve this.
